Kalavryta Ski Center is one of the most popular and largest ski centers in Greece. It is located on Mount Helmos, near the historic town of Kalavryta, in the Prefecture of Achaia. This center offers winter sports and nature lovers a variety of activities and services, making it an ideal destination for families, beginners and experienced skiers alike.
History and Development
The Kalavryta Ski Center first opened its doors in 1988 and since then it has developed and modernized significantly. The creation of the center was the result of the cooperation of the local community and the authorities with the aim of exploiting the natural wealth of the area and strengthening tourism.
Geography and Climate
The center is located at an altitude ranging from 1,700 to 2,340 meters, providing excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding during the winter season. The climate of the area is ideal for the development of snow, while the location of Helmos offers a magnificent view towards the Gulf of Corinth and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Tracks and Lifts
The Kalavryta Ski Center has a total of 12 slopes of varying difficulty, covering all the needs of skiers. The tracks are divided into green, blue, red and black. The green ones are suitable for beginners and the black ones for the more experienced. In addition, there are 7 lifts, including 2 cable cars, 3 sliding and 2 baby lifts, which ensure the comfortable and fast transportation of guests to the slopes.
